The Melinda Leigh Dance Company is made up of dancers ages 6 and up. They perform locally and compete at the Regional and National level. Our dancers are a diverse group of talented and dedicated students. Our company members work to be well-rounded, versatile dancers that perform many different styles of dance, including Tap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theater, Pointe, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Acrobatics.

All company students are required to take Tap, Ballet and Jazz each year. In order to be considered for company you must take each of those styles during the previous dance year. Current students may be eligible for company through teacher recommendation. If you are new to the studio and would like to be considered for the Melinda Leigh Dancers, please call to schedule a private audition.

The Melinda Leigh Dancers are proud of their accomplishments. Please look below for results from our previous competitions.

More results will be added soon!!!

MLPAC recognized in September issue of Dancer Magazine
The worldwide dance and art community has always been on the front lines of responding to community crises. Katie Langan, author of "Reaching Out" and a contributing writer for Dancer Magazine, outlines a few of the dance studios throughout the United States who are actively involved in their communities. We were thrilled to find out that MLPAC was chosen as a featured studio!

The article lists some of the events that our company members have been a part of which includes performing at First Night Mobile, hosting a benefit concert for United Cerebral Palsy, performing at the Azalea Festival, raising money for the Semmes Public Library, and performing and raising money for Relay for Life. It also mentions our classes for dancers who are hearing impaired and our assistants that partner with students in classes who have Autism.

After being interviewed, Miss Anna is quoted as saying that helping the community "provides much needed services and assistance to worthy causes. Most importantly, it helps our students to learn that their talents and time can be used to help others. We have found that it makes our students more aware and more sensitive to the needs of others and their community."

A huge thanks to all of our students and parents who make our community service possible! We are proud to have such a caring and loving dance family!
